Highlife legend Fatai ‘Rolling Dollars’ dies at 85

Veteran highlife music star, Fatai Olayiwola Olagunju, popularly known as Fatai Rolling Dollars is dead.

He died in the early hours of Wednesday at Marritol Hospital, Surulerein in Lagos at the age of 85.

Before his demise, the octogenarian was hospitalised following an illness which hit him when he went to perform a some shows in the United States.

Confirming his death on Wednesday morning, the music star’s wife, Zainab, who had been with him in the hospital said Rolling Dollars was moved from Ahmadiyya Hospital where he had been receiving treatment to an undisclosed hospital in Surulere where he gave up the ghost.

Prior to his death, it was reported that the musician was unable to come up with N29, 000 balance of his hospital bill at Ahmadiyya Hospital.
