Baring
any last minutes change, the newly registered All Progressives Congress, APC,
will be holding its national convention to elect the substantive national
officers and state executives by January, 2014.
Investigation revealed that the present interim national executive led
by Chief Bisi Akande was to stay in office not later than six months for the
substantive executive to be put in place to steer the activities of the party
in preparation for upcoming elections in the country.
A reliable source in the party disclosed on Monday that former national executive members of the three political parties that fused to APC, Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP and the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, will be meeting today (Tuesday) at the party’s headquarters, Abuja to deliberate on the setting up structures at the states, local governments and ward levels.
The meeting is also expected to look at the modalities for registration and membership of the party by members of the political parties that formed APC as well as those intending to join from other parties.
